Jayanta Ghosal a veteran journalist who belongs from Kolkata but spent the past four decades in Delhi. He started his career as a journalist with the popular Bengali daily, Bartaman. He then proceeded to become the editor of Ananda Bazar Patrika and is now a consulting political editor with the India Today group. He is specialised in national politics and is particularly interested in the politics of West Bengal. Ghoshal is a teacher and speaker of contemporary media science and is the author of several books written in Bengali, including the biography of West Bengal's chief minister, Mamata Banerjee. He is very fond of food sociology and the history of mishti in Bengal.
